There’s one fear that stops hosts from listing on more than one platform – and from taking direct bookings at all: the double booking.<\/strong> Two guests, the same weekend, one very awkward cancellation and a one-star review that follows you around for a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why double bookings happen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A double booking is almost always a timing gap.<\/strong> Say you’re listed on Airbnb, Booking.com, and your own website. A guest books your place on Booking.com at 2:07 p.m. If your other calendars don’t hear about that booking fast enough, someone can book the same dates on Airbnb at 2:09 – before the first booking has blocked the date everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The more channels you add, the bigger the risk – unless every calendar talks to the others instantly. The fix isn’t fewer channels. It’s synchronization.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
